What we collect, why we collect it, and how your documents and identification are handled.
Information we collect
- Contact details you submit through our forms: name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in, and your message.
- Appointment details: the meeting address you provide so travel mileage can be calculated, the date and time you request, and any reference number you supply.
- Documents and identification you upload through our secure notary portal, when you choose to use it.
- Payment details are entered directly with our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To respond to your request, schedule and perform the service, and calculate fees including travel mileage.
- To verify signer identity as required by Texas notary law.
- To issue receipts and maintain the records that Texas law and IRS recordkeeping guidelines require.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Documents and identification
- Files uploaded through the secure portal are stored in a private, access-controlled location and are not publicly accessible. Access is limited to the business owner.
- Uploaded identification is used only to verify your identity for the notarization and is retained no longer than needed to meet legal recordkeeping obligations.
- If you would prefer not to upload anything, you may present documents and ID in person at your appointment instead.
Third parties we rely on
- A payment processor to handle card payments securely.
- A mapping provider to calculate driving distance from our service base to your meeting address.
- A hosting and database provider to run this website and store form submissions.
- A remote online notarization platform, when your session is performed online. Those sessions are recorded as Texas law requires and retained by the platform under state standards.
Retention and your choices
- Notarial records are retained as required by Texas law. Other records are kept only as long as needed for tax, accounting, and service history purposes.
- You may request a copy or deletion of the contact information we hold about you, subject to records we are legally required to keep. Email contact@starlightsps.com to make a request.
- This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Security
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that limit visibility to the business owner.
- Digital notary certificates and private keys are never stored on this website.
- No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your information has been affected, contact us at contact@starlightsps.com right away.
